About
Hi, I'm Yiran (EE-Ran).
I value listening to my clients’ stories and walking alongside them. I believe that having a consistent, warm, and calm presence is an important part of healing. My role is to create a safe and supportive space where you can begin to unpack what you have been carrying. I will sit with you through difficult moments and celebrate your progress, including the small but meaningful steps along the way.
I hold a Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Oregon State University, and am a Professional Counselor Associate in the state of Oregon. In addition to my graduate training, I volunteered for 2.5 years at a local crisis hotline, providing support to individuals in moments of distress. My approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), grounded in a person-centered perspective. We explore how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact and identify patterns contributing to distress. I help clients build practical coping strategies while deepening self-understanding in a collaborative, paced way.
I was born in China and came to the United States at age 15. My experiences of studying, working, and building a life abroad, while navigating the many ups and downs of immigration and acculturation, have led me to pursue a career in counseling to support others with shared identities and similar lived experiences.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my cat, friends, and family. In my free time, I love traveling, playing video games, and engaging in arts and crafts.
